Privacy notice
Last updated 18 October 2026
We collect as little personal data as we can, use it only to help you, and never sell it.
Who is responsible
RARE Maisons ("we", "us") is responsible for personal data collected through raremaisons.com. For any privacy question or request, email hello@raremaisons.com.
What we collect
Enquiry and contact forms: your name, email address and what you choose to tell us, such as hotel, dates, number of guests and preferences.
Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, the page you joined from, your browser language, a one-way hashed version of your IP address (used only to stop abuse) and your browser type. We store these in our own subscriber database.
Nominations: your name, email address and the hotel you suggest.
Enquiries are delivered to our inbox by a form email service, and a backup copy is kept in our own database so no request is lost.
Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider processes basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver and secure the site. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it, and our legal bases
To answer your enquiry and help you plan a stay (steps you ask us to take before any booking, and our legitimate interest in replying).
To send the newsletter you asked for (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any issue or emailing us).
To keep the site secure and working (our legitimate interest).
To meet legal obligations where they apply.
If you ask us to put you in touch with a hotel or booking partner, we share only what is needed for that purpose, and only with your agreement.
Cookies
We do not set non-essential cookies. Booking partners may set their own cookies on their websites after you click a link to them. See our cookie notice.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and messages: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Server logs held by our hosting provider: kept for a short period for security, typically no more than 30 days.
Who we share it with
Service providers who act on our instructions: website hosting (Vercel), our database host (Neon), which stores newsletter sign-ups and enquiry backups, and a form email delivery service (FormSubmit). Hotels or booking partners, only when you ask us to introduce you. Authorities, only where the law requires it. We never sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the UK equivalent.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email hello@raremaisons.com. We will reply within one month, or sooner where the law requires.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross context behavioural advertising, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority, for example a supervisory authority in the EU, the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the Personal Data Protection Committee in Thailand. We would appreciate the chance to help first.
Children
Our site is for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to keep your data safe. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send payment card details or other sensitive data through our forms.
Changes
We will update this notice if our practices change, and show the new date at the top.
