City, coast and valley
Portugal
Portugal, at an easy pace.
One small country, six very different stays: the hills of Lisbon, the vineyards of the Douro, the Algarve cliffs, the dunes of Comporta, the palaces of Sintra and the gardens of Madeira.
Portugal is the most rewarding European country to travel slowly. Distances are short, the light is extraordinary and the best hotels are as varied as the landscape: a palace above the Tagus, a quinta among the terraced vines, a cliff top resort above a golden cove.
We choose Portuguese hotels for their sense of place, the quality of the food and wine, and how well they pair with each other. Most of our guests combine two or three in a single trip.
