Seychelles

Seychelles, island by island.

Private pool villas, granite shores and two very different bases: Praslin for beaches and island-hopping, Mahé for a secluded coastal retreat.

The Seychelles reward a slower itinerary. Praslin brings beaches, forest and access to neighbouring islands; Mahé is larger and easier for international arrivals. The sea, transfers and hotel setting matter more than ticking off every island.

Our three stays cover those choices. Raffles Seychelles looks across Praslin from its hillside pool villas. Constance Lemuria sits by the beaches of Anse Kerlan. Cheval Blanc Seychelles has villas at Anse Intendance on Mahé. Compare the villa location and the journey between islands before choosing.

Getting there

Arriving in Seychelles.

Each hotel page lists its address, check-in times and the hotel's own transfer times.

Good to know

  • International arrivals land on Mahé; Praslin needs a separate domestic flight or ferry.
  • Sea conditions vary by coast and season.
  • Confirm currency and tax terms in the hotel quote.

Practical

Before you go.

Getting there
International flights arrive on Mahé. Reach Praslin by domestic flight or ferry; allow extra connection time when travelling between islands.
When to go
April, May, October and November often bring lighter winds. The southeast trade winds are more noticeable from June to September.
Currency
Seychellois rupee (SCR). Hotels commonly quote in euros or other major currencies; confirm payment terms.
Our tip
A stay on both Mahé and Praslin gives you two different island settings without trying to see the whole archipelago.

Questions

Seychelles, answered.

Should I choose Mahé or Praslin?

Mahé is simplest for an arrival or departure stay; Praslin is well placed for beach days and nearby island trips.

Can I stay on both islands?

Yes. Leave sufficient time between the inter-island transfer and an international flight.
