Patina Maldives is on the Fari Islands in the North Male Atoll, close enough to the airport to arrive by boat. The island covers 42 hectares, and the architecture by Studio MK27 is low, open and modern.

Art is part of the place. James Turrell's Skyspace Amarta is on the island, a chamber that frames the sky at dawn and dusk.

The villas run from the 60 square metre Fari Studios to beach and water pool villas and The Beach House, a three bedroom estate of 1,800 square metres. The Two Bedroom Sunset Beach Pool Villa, at 600 square metres, faces west over the sea.

There are several restaurants and bars, cooking with produce from the island garden, and a spa built around the elements. Footprints, the kids club, runs a programme of art, nature and play, and guests can help plant coral on the reef.
