Soneva Jani is on Medhufaru Island in the Noonu Atoll, north of Male. Most of its villas stand over the lagoon, and many have a slide from the upper deck into the water and a bedroom roof that opens to the sky.

The villas are large. The 2 Bedroom Sunset Water Reserve with Slide covers 772 square metres and faces west over the lagoon. On the island, the 4 Bedroom Island Reserve with Slide reaches almost 1,800 square metres, with its own pool and beach.

The resort is built for active days. There are water sports, tennis and padel, and films show at the outdoor Cinema Paradiso. The Den, the children's club, has a zip line, a pirate ship and a swim up mocktail bar. Soneva Soul runs the spa, with breathwork, recovery and Ayurvedic treatments.
