Lemon terraces and a lift to the sea just outside Amalfi town.
1Michelin star, Glicine
Hotel Santa Caterina sits on the cliff just outside Amalfi town, among lemon and orange terraces, and has been run by the Gambardella family since its start in 1880. A lift runs down to the sea.
The rooms have hand painted majolica floors and marble bathrooms. The Follia Amalfitana Suite is a garden suite among the citrus trees, with a shell shaped bed, a solarium and its own pool. The suites in the main building have a living area, a large tub and a terrace or garden facing the coast, and the Executive Junior Suites add a sitting area and a marble bathroom.
Chalet Giulietta e Romeo is a two level chalet set into the cliff, with a round terrace that hangs over the water, a private garden and a pool.
Glicine, the hotel's restaurant, has held one Michelin star for three years in a row.
