Bellini wrote Norma here. Twenty four suites and the world's most talked about garden.
24suites
Passalacqua is a historic villa in Moltrasio, on the western shore of Lake Como, run by the De Santis family. The composer Vincenzo Bellini wrote Norma here, and the villa now has only 24 suites.
The largest, Suite Bellini, covers 250 square metres and is built around a neoclassical music room with a double height ceiling. Suite Norma is a run of connecting rooms ending in a corner salon, with the original parquet floors, at 120 square metres. Suite Agnese, the third largest, is a run of sky blue and terracotta rooms of 90 square metres, and the Grand Junior Suites are single open rooms under stucco ceilings.
The gardens and a private park run down to the lake, with three pools and a lakeside beach. Most suites are in the villa itself, and a few look over the Palazz and the old houses of Moltrasio.

A 250 sqm suite built around a neoclassical music room with a double-height vaulted ceiling and Murano chandelier, where Vincenzo Bellini wrote parts of his operas in the early 1800s.
The third-largest suite, a sequence of sky blue and terracotta rooms under some of the Villa's finest stucco ceilings, looking toward the village rather than the lake.
