Ski hotels
Grand hotels for the ski season.
Winter hotels in the high Engadin, from the palaces of St. Moritz to the Kronenhof in Pontresina, with each hotel's season dates on its page.
How to choose
These are hotels for the winter, close to the slopes of Corviglia and Corvatsch in the Upper Engadin. St. Moritz sits at 1,856 metres, high enough for reliable snow from December to March, and the valley has been a winter resort since Johannes Badrutt persuaded four English guests to come back for the snow in 1864.
The grand hotels here keep seasons. Most open from early December to late March and close in spring and autumn, and each sets its own dates. We show the published season on every hotel page, taken from the hotel's official website, and a notice when a hotel is closed between seasons.
When choosing, think about where you want to wake up. Suvretta House stands at the foot of the Suvretta slope on the Champfèr side. Badrutt's Palace, the Kulm and the Carlton are in the village above the lake, a short ride from the Corviglia funicular. Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski is in St. Moritz Bad, at the foot of the Signal cable car. The Kronenhof is in Pontresina, a quieter village about 7 kilometres away with longer seasons.
Christmas, New Year and February are the busiest weeks, and the best suites go early. Ask us about dates before you plan the rest of the trip.
